Exercise can relieve stress, so it does not have to be hard work. 

How many of you like to go to the gym, where it smells like sweat and you have to break your back to get in shape? I’ll tell you a secret. I can’t stand the gym. The smell. The people watching each other. Dodgy(dirty) workout equipment.  Blech! I even know some personal trainers who can’t that environment anymore.

So, if you don’t dig the gym, where does a gal go to tone muscles, get her stretch on and feel amazing? Hiking is fun. Bike riding is great. But Yoga? Yoga heals. Yoga shreds stress. Yoga builds muscle. Yoga is where it’s at.

Yoga has many phsyical and mental benefits:

There are many different types of yoga, so if you try one and it is not for you, try another until you find a good fit with the yoga style and the teacher.

Yoga has been a blessing on days when my stress level is very high and I think I may burst. Yoga is also a gentle way to get in touch with the spiritual, without getting religious.

  1. Yoga is a cure-all for me! Physical workout, spiritual work-in, mental health care, emotional release. Depending on how I come to the practice, it is a prayer of gratitude or a call for guidance. Some days, the energy helps calm me; other times I rely on it to get my energy up. I love how adaptable it is, and so, so much more than just the poses. Truly, a lifelong practice!
